Deputies formally booked him on suspicion of aggravated kidnapping, a severe first-degree felony under state law that carries significant criminal penalties upon conviction.
The events unfolded shortly before 8:00 p.m. near the intersection of 29th Street and Moss Avenue in western Odessa. Law enforcement documents indicate that the 47-year-old victim was walking along the roadway when Lopez abruptly pulled alongside her in his pickup truck.
