The incarcerated suspect has been identified by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation as 50-year-old Marcus Curry. According to administrative reports released by prison authorities, the violent encounter unfolded at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 10 at California State Prison, Los Angeles County, located in the Antelope Valley.
Investigative summaries indicate that the physical attack began abruptly as Curry was in the process of leaving the counselor’s office. Without warning, the inmate reportedly turned and ambushed the correctional counselor, triggering an urgent security response across the immediate administrative sector of the institution.
Custody staff stationed nearby reacted rapidly to the disturbance, managing to restrain and subdue Curry before additional physical harm could take place.
